David is a Principal at Emergence Capital. Before joining Emergence, David spent five years at Retool where he joined as the 5th employee. At Retool, David held roles in software engineering, sales leadership, and product management. He feels lucky to have worked alongside an exceptional group of people across a range of functions during his time there.

David loves working with entrepreneurs who are customer obsessed — pulling their teams above the noise to anticipate what customers will need, and bringing that future into existence with relentless execution.

Originally from Los Angeles, David graduated from Princeton University, studying Philosophy and Computer Science. Outside of work, he enjoys basketball, golfing, skiing, and poker.
