Zak is an Associate at Emergence Capital Partners. He’s been on both sides of the table and is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs.
Prior to joining Emergence, Zak founded an education technology company backed by Techstars that was honored by the Clinton Global Initiative and NBC’s Education Nation. Zak also spent time at Flexport, where he worked in special projects; at First Round Capital’s Dorm Room Fund, where he was a Managing Partner overseeing the New York office; and at Reach Capital, where he was on the investment team.
Zak studied behavioral economics at New York University, where he was the president of a political activism group, a board member of the college business club, and a member of the mock trial team. Along with his work, Zak has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Bloomberg View, The Next Web, and more.
