Cathy Minshall
Chief Administrative Officer
A 20+ year veteran of the venture capital industry, Cathy Minshall joined Emergence in 2011 as its CFO and became the Chief Administrative Officer in 2017. Her responsibilities include managing Emergence's legal, IT, HR, facilities and internal operations functions. Previously, Cathy spent over 5 years as the CFO of De Novo Ventures, and served as the controller for Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and the Mayfield Fund. She also has prior financial management experience with Ancora Capital, MGM, and Westwood One. Her career began with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles.
Cathy holds a BS in Accounting from the University of the Pacific, has served on the Board of the West Coast Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association (PECFOA), and is an active member of the National Venture Capital Association’s CFO Task Force.
Passionate about animal rescue, Cathy co-founded an animal rescue organization and volunteers and fosters for several others. She’s also an avid runner, having run over 120 marathons—including one in each of the 50 states—and qualified for the Boston Marathon. Cathy has recently taken on triathlons, and has completed both 70.3 and 140.6 Ironmans.
